1. Where do you think you could take photos like the ones you look at today?
  • I believe I could take really good pictures in classrooms like science clubs and fun and educational activities in groups.
2. Whose classroom would you like to visit and take photos in?
  • I would really like to take pictures in Mrs. Shan's room because is a science class and Mrs. Shan is the coolest chemistry teacher I know. She makes amazing things in her classroom like fires in different colors and turn really bad and unrecognizable coins into shiny and completely new coins.
3. What will you do, as the photographer, to get amazing photos like you look at today?
  • I would ask the teacher and the students to cooperate with me and do what the teacher indicate them to do in the class. Then I would focus the camera on the most interest things I see going on in the classroom between the students.

Photo Manipulation and Ethics

This picture was the most unethical to me because the person who photo shopped this picture is showing a fake version not the real one. They probably did it to get more people's attraction but is still a wrong thing to do because they are lying to the people who are interested in Kim Kardashian's life.

This picture I found the least unethical because the editor did not change anything of the person of made something fake he/she used photoshop only to change color and make the picture more beautiful.

Academics and Community Service Area picture

I like the picture "Going for the Goal" picture where a young teen from Dos Pueblos High School is playing soccer. I like this picture because the girl is on the air you can see the her in action about to hit the soccer ball. I picked this picture because one of my favorites sports to play is soccer. This picture has the rule of thirds because all the action is happening in one of the corners of the picture.

Best Story, action/emotion, the one that fills the frame with the most interesting stuff.

This picture represents the best story because its a group of people getting together honoring the American flag. This means that the American flag its important to them and they feel that they have to honor it before it is erased.

This picture represents action because most of the people in the picture are moving. The people in the picture are feeding the poor which is very generous of them. The poor people are moving, smiling, and happy that they are about to have a good meal and this represents action and emotion.

This picture is the one that fill the frame with the most interesting stuff because has two kind young men helping out to put nail by nail in the project that they are constructing. This shows that they care and the fact that they care and are helping is very interesting now that now a days people don't see that often.

Great black and white photographers, PART 2

Photographer Robert Adams, is a very good photographer. The reason I like this photography is because he chose something simple to make it a good picture. A line of trees and an empty road made the picture just look interesting. Robert Adams was born on May 8, 1937 at this time he is 78 years old. He was born in Orange New Jersey. Some of his awards are,  Hasselblad Award, MacArthur Fellowship, Guggenheim Fellowship for Creative Arts, US & Canada, Phoenix Award. Adams went to  University of Southern California. Some of his artwork know are,  Abandoned Windbreak West of Fontana, California. Before Adams was a photographer he was an English teacher then he became interested in photography when he bought a small camera and started taking pictures of nature.

Post shoot reflection

http://rebeccasphotojournalismblog.blogspot.com/2015/09/metal.html?showComment=1442865894980#c3106692611481327946

I really liked this picture from Rebecca I like how it starts at the lockers and continues with the rest blurry looks really nice.

In my opinion Rebecca could have made this picture better by getting the first locker completely not just some part of it.

Post shoot reflection

1. What challenges did you encounter while trying to get the photos of your first 4 prompts (Square, Metal, Happy, Bowie)

- I had some trouble finding a picture for happy. Happy was the las picture I took with the help of my partner Ethan. Since I could not find anything or someone that was happy.

2. What technical aspects of photography or the assignment in general (focus, framing, holding the camera, etc.) did you find yourself thinking about the most? Provide a specific example of what you did to do this correctly.

- One of the technical aspects that I found myself thinking a lot about was how to hold the camera. In some ovations i would find myself having some difficulties to take a picture because the way i was holding the camera wasn't completely right.

3. If you could do the assignment again, what would you do differently now that you know some basic rules of photography?

- I would try try to follow the rules more with each picture i took. Bowie High school has a lot of really cool things around that could help me find a picture for each one of the rules of photography.

4. What things would you do the same?

- Something i would do the same would be my interest and focus to get something right. I would put the same effort as the first time i went to take the pictures.

6. Are you interested in shooting those same prompts again, why?

- Yes I am, because I like taking and knowing the rules will make me feel very smart because I will know what I am doing. Also taking pictures with the same rules will give me the chance to practice more those rules and truly learn them for the future.

Merging

the picture is not complete, part of the poles are missing.

Bowie

This picture follows the rule of third because the big B for Bowie is on one side of the picture.

Square (prompt shoot)

This picture follows the rule of Simplicity because the background is plain with one color which let the people see what the camera is confused on.

Metal (prompt shoot)

This picture follows the rule of lines.

Happy (prompt shoot)

This picture follows the rule of balance because has equal lines and squares on both sides and also showing what the person is doing and where he is coming from.

Avoiding mergers

I chose this picture for avoiding mergers because the picture is pretty clear on what people want to see. People can really see what's going on, the two towers and the smoke, where it is coming from and also its easy to predict what will happen next because the picture is pretty clear.

Balance

This picture shows balance to me because it not only shows the city and what's going on but it also shows its surroundings like where The Statue of Liverty is. The two things balance the picture to not let either side empty.

Framing

For framing I chose this picture because the broken wall is framing the disaster the fire has caused inside the building.

The rule of thirds

The rule of thirds is about focusing the camera on either four sides of the spaces so in this picture the focus is on the upper right side of the picture where the fire and the buildings are burning.

simplicity

For this picture I chose simplicity because you can clearly see the airplane and the picture has a plain background which lets you see the only thing the camera is focused on.

lines

For this picture I used Lines because although there is a man falling the structure of the building is full of straight lines.

Assessment

I like the picture where Magnus and Ethan are together with their hands on the tree and smiling because it shows the friendship between them. I like this picture also because they are outside enjoying the fresh air and the bright beautiful day. The other reason I like this picture is because the colors that it has, it has really bright colors and the outfits of the boys really make the surroundings look brighter.

The picture with Ethan and Nahara balancing each other is really pretty because it shows that they support each other so neither him or Nahara will fall. I like this picture because besides the normal meaning of balancing it also shows the closeness and protection two people give each other.
